H.E. Kashim Shettima is a distinguished statesman and financial expert currently serving as the Vice President of Nigeria. His journey from navigating complex security challenges as Governor of Borno State to shaping national economic direction is defined by resilience and reform. With a strong foundation in banking and public service, he brings deep financial insight to his role as Chairman of the National Economic Council (NEC), where he harmonizes state and federal developmental goals.

An alumnus of the University of Maiduguri with a B.Sc.in Agricultural Economics, he also holds an M.Sc. in the same field from the University of Ibadan. Before entering politics, he rose to the rank of General Manager at Zenith Bank, a background that continues to inform his commitment to translating vision into measurable national progress through the "Renewed Hope" agenda, focusing on food security and inclusive growth.
