About

Patience Oniha oversees Nigeria’s national debt strategy with a focus on sustainability, transparency, and fiscal innovation. She manages a diverse portfolio of sovereign instruments, including Eurobonds and Sukuk bonds, which have been instrumental in funding national infrastructure. Her leadership has strengthened Nigeria’s credibility in global financial markets, ensuring that debt remains a tool for long-term national development.

A graduate of the University of Lagos with a first-class degree in Economics, she is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). With over 30 years of experience in banking and public finance, she has been a key figure in the modernization of Nigeria's debt management practices, ensuring fiscal responsibility and economic stability for the nation.
