About

Roosevelt Ogbonna leads one of Africa’s largest banking groups with a focus on scale, innovation, and international expansion. Under his leadership, Access Bank has grown its footprint across three continents, strengthening financial inclusion and sustainable banking practices. His strategic foresight has guided the bank through complex mergers and acquisitions, ensuring resilience in the face of global economic shifts.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Banking and Finance from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and is an alumnus of Harvard Business School and IMD Business School. A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), he has been instrumental in the bank's transition to a holding company structure, shaping the future of African financial integration and positioning the bank as a global competitor.
